What a fantastic space! A cool club with comfy couches, excellent sound and great music. AND you can BYOB for no charge (they don't sell alcohol here).
Berkeley has been missing a smaller, more intimate place for acoustic music since the Freight grew up and became huge, and The Back Room fills this gap with style! I love the variety of music - folk, blues, soul, pop, world, bluegrass, Cajun, etc. - and it has a very chill, friendly vibe.
Excellent recommendation EBX. I tried Dal Makhani and Palak Paneer today, they were both very good. I wish I had told them to make it hotter but I forgot.
As a Desi I can attest to the quality. More importantly they use good oils and probably use it only once, there is no need to explain this further most people will understand why.
I'll follow up when I try the Southern Indian food. Nice people too and I nicknamed the Owner(?) "Mr. Grumpy." In a nice way of course.
I've known Roger for years and years. He is hands down THE best guitar teacher in the Bay
Emergency ed Rosenthal gave me a book about seeds, made with BT and other bacteria in them to make them mold and pest resistant, for large production and no spraying similar to illegal BT vegetables grown ,at normal rates its causes illergic reactions and birth defects, in plants it growes to 10x regular rate because bacteria grows as long as moist ,I'm working with authority in mendiceno, humbolt, trinity, and south ,its been found in grows and with hillbillies, and in as far south as sacremento, please get samples checked for this bacteria, its over looked many despencerys are testing please do so and if found call authority it can be in clones to,better safe than sorry thanks
I honestly didn't think anyone knew about this place! I found this place while buying beer one day when I lived down the street. Everything they sell is AWESOME!
A great place for great food and wine. The setting is warm and friendly, as is the staff. They also have an joining wine shop that has a wonderful selection.
I feel that everyone at Prima's is dedicated to making sure my evening is perfect. I've been eating here for years and have never been disappointed.
I loved the restaurant when it was on McAllister before it moved to Geary @ Jones, and I loved it on Geary too. Over the years there have been many great waiters and personable staff although after a best friend moved away I found myself less often at the restaurant. Now though, now that Millennium has moved to my hometown, I'm generating a new habit again.
I have been dreaming of going to this popup for year- finally I noticed it was across the street from me! yeah! Yes it was everything I wanted- real food finally. Delicious chicken with so many flavors, great Sake Sangria! and Deviled Avocado- on on fresh veggie sides. Don't miss the Brownie at the front door either. -- Great Fish Tacos = ps everything is gluten free!!
Pilates classes with Sue Jamison are excellent.
She is very knowledgeable about health and fitness. She is very unique in the way that she directs her classes, any way at the end you will have a combination of exercises that not only are good for your body and mind, but also are beautiful.
After class you will feel peaceful, rested, and happy

Investor to reopen East Bay Law School
I count this restaurant as one of the best in the bay. I am not vegan but simply love their food. Fresh, delicious, and served by a knowledgeable staff.
So Gary Siu is right. There are no club dates posted for this Historical Bar, The Roundup Saloon in Lafayette at 3553 MT. Diablo Blvd. It is kind of a unique, Funky bar where live bands perform periodically. Tim Barnes band has successfully performed there 2 times and is coming up on August 28 for a recipe for a Rock and Roll Banquet. see www.timbarnesrocks.com I submitted an ad for the upcoming performance to that club for the band Tim Barnes & the Five Grand Band in plenty of time, (2 weeks prior) for the East Bay Express to announce it . At the time the ad was acknowledged by the events editor, but so far there has been no posting in the music and entertainment section of the East Bay Express for the Lafayette club. Up and coming struggling bands should be advertised. In this case, Tim Barnes, not a newcomer to the rock scene was a key member of the very popular '70's band Stoneground which made rock n rock history for a short time in the San Fransisco Bay area. With the management of Tom Donahue who was associated with an Alameda radio station at that time, took this band, under contract with Warner Brothers pictures, on 2 whirlwind movie tours which have since become cult movies and were shown successfully for a number of years internationally. "Medicine Ball Caravan" and the more successful, "Dracula, 1972 AD," That band was a hard driving band spearheaded by the growling guitar work and vocals by Tim Barnes. The unique solid rhythmic drive attracted local luminaries as Pete Sears, Jefferson Starship bassist and keyboard player and Sal Valentino. The band had tremendous success a handful of years but could not sustain because of so many in the band's personnel. There was a short hit single by one of the then girl singers at that time. After the demise of SToneground, Tim has had a successful career in Sacramento, first with the group called, the Fabulous Flames, then on to 25 year association with Mick Martin and the Blues Rockers. Tim continues to make rock history which is 100% home cooked. The ingredients of the hot band includes the high energy of Dan Stanton on bass and vocals, moving bass player and vocals, Gregg King, on master drums, Kenny Nichols and pulling it together, Chris Burns on keyboard. Come take a listen and you will soon be dancing your off!
You can see musicians up close and personal at this venue with an outstanding selection of world-class pianos surrounding you. The shows have enhanced with new lighting on some nights and it's absolutely breathtaking.
