Oakland, Berkeley, And East Bay News, Events, Restaurants, Music, & Arts
Please patronize this wonderful cultural asset to the community. Great folks, superb musicians, VERY high caliber jazz is found here, and beautiful art on every wall! Great place!
Interesting warehouse collective of artists. The location is definitely not for the faint at heart, but if you get yourself there you will certainly not be disappointed. There is a variety of events - exhibitions, concerts, movie screenings. There is often drinking around a campfire after an event.
Best place for a quick drink or live music in Alameda!
This bookstore carries a lot more than Buddhist texts. They have a variety of books on meditation, yoga, healing, etc. Also, some wonderful children's books. They also have a selection of Tibetan art "thankas" on canvas and poster paper. There are numerous items from Nepal such as singing bowls, incense, and repousses. They also have many kinds & colors of meditation cushions. A wonderful trove of spiritual treasures.
Amazingly good breakfasts (silver dollar pancakes a must) and friendly service keep me coming back.
The place was so good. And I love their service.
Stella's clothes are designed to make women look and feel beautiful. And shopping in the Stella Studio is a great experience! They'll help you put together outfits that will flatter you and express your individual style. I purchased a few versatile pieces that are perfect for business travel - and will be back for more to round out my wardrobe!
Incredible authentic delicious all those words don't do justice to this place. Just go you will not be disappointed.
Great music. Definitely the hottest Dancehall shows in the Bay.
Great clothes and really nice salespeople. The clothes are very versatile - can be worn to all types of occasions, casual or more dressy. They are flattering, comfortable, and unique. I recommend going to the store for style advice and taking advantage of the sale.
very very nice quality meals. changing menu. won several best of the bay area awards. genial host. one of my regular go-to places. never a problem for years of dining there.
Great show to attend if looking for anything old paper or history related letters, post cards, vintage photographs of the old west or your favorite town. The dealers at the show are allso Buyers of what they are selling, from old trip scrap books to the old family photo album from the civil war to the Exposition trip mom took in Seattle,or the brochure grandma got while in Yosemite. Many items to see, suggest to arrive early if you love to read or see interesting items..

The best Guilin noodles of USA
Fab store. I always love dropping by to see what they have. New stuff is always coming in and it's well curated. Friendly staff too. They don't have attitude. I'm always greeted with a smile. Even when they tell me they have to pass on something. I'd shop there regularly even if I didn't consign! So much of my wardrobe is from them now I rarely shop at big box stores. They have another store in Berkeley too, but I really love Montclair!
A coffee shop with soul and community. Definitely worth going out of your way to enjoy a truly amazing coffee (and tea) experience. Those who live/work nearby are lucky to be able to make this their daily stop. Kudos to Kristen and her partner Tina Nemling!
