Oakland, Berkeley, And East Bay News, Events, Restaurants, Music, & Arts
This spot is really kind of a find. It is located in an area you wouldn't think had any type of nightlife. Once you walk inside your eyes immediately adjust to comfort as the staff greets you and the decor grabs you. I walked in on a Saturday night that just happened to be a house night for music. The party was called "Infectious" and it was just that...infectious. These DJ's were really good and the drinks weren't bad either. I plan on returning often.
Lois has been dead for over twenty years now but the business long outlives her. That's beautiful. She left a legacy that has been handed down to her son. That's powerful. A mother that leaves a business to her children, I love any parent that does that. That's powerful man. We need more intergenerational transfer of businesses and wealth in the African-American community. We have some, but not enough, we need more, much more.

Many have said they miss the parade and wish they would do it again Can you tell me why it was stopped and can they do it again
So, what are the required fields to submit to this thread and where do I find them. I'm in Sacramento and will be advertising your club for the performance of Tim Barnes and the Five Grand Band whom you have successfully had before. In your past events you didn't list them. Dan Stanton is their publicists and plays bass in the band. This is for March 12 performance. Thanks Sylvia Rogers.
PS many years ago in the dark ages I think I sang there with a small jazz combo. Can't remember their name.
Not only a great variety of items available, but amazing customer service! Even if you come in not knowing exactly what you're looking for, their amazing team will help you find the perfect items. Ask for Peter G--he's the best!!
Events at this space are over the top amazing. Features plenty of safe parking, a large art showing area, lounge, and rooftop lounge. I highly recommend anything that happens at this location. Run by some incredible community minded folks who know what it takes to create amazing, welcoming, friendly spaces. Get ready to meet and talk to some of the Bay Area's most interesting people while you wander from amazing artwork to the rooftop smoking lounge. I'm looking forward to many more amazing events at Phaneros.
Delicious, innovative, and healthy with many fish as well as crudo dishes!
Great tangy marinades and light sauce garnishes. The 5 course New Years Eve dinner was a hit!
Carlos is a very talented chef.
I love my store! Thanks for including it on your website. Would you please update our address, effective September 2012? Thanks much. --Mae, owner

Wonderful food, with a menu that offers very unusual items. I just discovered this Flacos today, and I am certain to be back soon in the coming week. The service here is friendly and very pleasant. A lot of high-priced restaurants could learn from these folks. Next time I got there I want to take photos so I can feature them on my developing website called "Good, Better, Best."
The Palace Theater is an architecturally amazing building with a crucial history. Everyone should check it out.
Very un-sanitary and horrible customer service.
Horrible food, I felt sick immediately after eating it, I do not think it was fresh and the restaurant did not seem sanitary. I was very disappointed.
Horrible customer service. I ordered a red special for take out and when I got home there was no miso soup. I called in to complain and they told me that it was there policy that they do not give soup for take away and also they "Do not tell customers" that they don't.
