Re: “Alphonse Berber Gallery

It's been a long time since I walked into a gallery and had a phrase from a Batman TV episode be the first to burst into my mind..."Holy Amazing Works of Art!"
Last night's Grand Opening of the Alphonse Berber Gallery was an affair to remember for those of us longing for Berkeley to recapture its past investment and promotion of high-end innovative Art.

Margolin's kinetic sculptures on the main floor drew us in and awakened our curiosity about the principles of motion. Once able to pull away, up the stairs one found a feast of creativity.. from painted sneakers, nervous system's latex and silver jewelry, felt zippered totes, oil on wood collages, and charred wood sculptures, to incredibly beautiful pig gut, wood and yarn creations.

Further back a room flaunting amazing graphite landscapes and a separate light sculpture presentation which spilled on three walls.

The owners were gracious and attentive, impassioned with their love of art and elated by the turnout, confirming their hunch that Berkeley was indeed thirsting for a Gallery to call their own.

Re: “Pro Arts Gallery

Her piece was thought provoking and imaginitive. I really think she is on to something. And she recycles! Keep an eye out for Bianca Kolunusz-Partee.

Benevento's for sure not from Seattle. But he recorded his last two albums there. He's an east coast dude.

Re: “Fingado Art Gallery

If you want to see beauty and something different, go see this Mosaics Exhibit! It was well worth venturing up the hill a few blocks from San Pablo to visit this Gallery and see these mosaics in glass and they are there until after Christmas.

Re: “Fingado Art Gallery

Gorgeous, sensual work! The glass mosaics have a luminous quality that creates a wonderful mood. There are large wall art pieces as well as smaller art mirrors. And the prices are so reasonable for such fabulous work! B. Rockhold

yes yes its true, The AE is back strong with a long awaited return to The Red Devil Lounge on Wednesday, December 3rd + It is our second time (and thanks so much to those that came and supported last year's show!) at this great music venue that SF Weekly readers voted "best place to see live rock" and we could use your support! Spawned from the seed of aliens and birthed from the wombs of
monsters, the members of The Faceless were raised in isloation with
nothing but their musicianship to soothe their wretched existence.
Crushing their earth enemies with weapons of mass sonic
destruction,The Faceless are a musical force to be reckoned with.
As smart aliens would, they set up their base in Los Angeles to
attack at the nucleus of today's plagued heavy music scene. Using
advanced mind control tactics, they have managed to single-handedly
assimilate death metal fans, hardcore kids, tech metal elitists,
myspace scenesters, thrashers, and children of the shred all in one
fatal swoop of aural hypnotism.
