Our August 30 story on the Oakland Art Murmur contained several errors. Most notably, we were wrong when we attributed the vandalism at the Esteban Sabar gallery to members of the Rock Paper Scissors gallery collective. This allegation was based on our misunderstanding and had no basis in fact.
We also misspelled the name of Ego Park’s Kevin Slagle and misidentified the Oakland Cultural Affairs Commission. The first Art Murmur in January featured seven galleries, not six: 33 Grand, Auto3321, Boontling, Ego Park, Front Gallery, Mama Buzz, and RPS; 21 Grand joined in February. Finally, the 25-plus Oakland galleries that we referred to included several venues that do not participate in Art Murmur.
