Pizza Rustica Café

Rustica’s chichi pizza seems to take a backseat to Zachary’s in the polls, but many people swear by it. A lot of times when folks try and get all gourmet about their pizza, it ends up tasting like a pita decorated with an artichoke heart and a miserly serving of cheese. But Rustica’s choices are fabulous: Capricciosa (ham, artichoke hearts, roasted garlic, kalamata olives, and lots of cheese) or the Puttanesca, whose name means “for the hookers,” so you know it’s good (capers, anchovies, garlic, artichoke hearts, and Roma tomatoes). They also serve amazingly tasty and gigantic roast chickens; and the best Caesar salad you’ve ever tasted. The salads come with a gargantuan hunk of bread and can feed about four as a starter. They’ve also got that neighborhood feel — if you live nearby and order delivery from Rustica, they remember you; if you call ahead and pick it up a lot, they’ll remember you too.
