If you can’t read Korean, you’ve probably missed this gem of a watering hole on Telegraph Ave., a block north of 27th in Oakland’s Koreatown. But you can’t miss the large posters all over it. Movie posters are this bar’s shtick, or perhaps just a cheap way to decorate. Either way, posters, some of American movies but written in Korean, are plastered — not framed, not tacked — all over the interior as well. Tacky? Ingenious? Who cares — the soju is strong, the interior smoky, and the menu extensive. There’s no better place to go if you want to throw back a few and consume some spicy food at the same time. And by food, we don’t mean mere bar fodder like lame-o pretzels and peanuts. We’re talking mussel soup, kimchi, and chicken wings so spicy your mouth will burn for hours.
