We Play With Swords

As a fairly last-minute addition to the Best of the East Bay Party 2010 (only 9 days to go, after all), I am really excited to officially add the East Bay Fencers Gym! These professional sword fighters (not necessarily professional or sword fighters, but whatevs) are going to stage an exhibition and mini-tournament, almost dead center of the party.

They will be attacking each other with swords from around 5:30 to 8 p.m. Check them out in the grassy area between Miss Pearl's and Scott's at the end of Broadway. Peruse the official info below.

"Fencing teaches problem solving, tactical thinking, sportsmanship, self-confidence, and creativity. Sometimes referred to as "physical chess," it challenges and develops the mind and body in a single workout.

The East Bay Fencers Gym is committed to providing a fun, low-stress environment for fencers of all ages and levels. We firmly believe in integrity, excellence and honor. Our commitment is to help you define and reach your own personal goals, whether that means learning the basics or competing at a national level. The main thing is that we want everyone to be comfortable and competitive without all the ego."
