Though this section of the party is intended for the 12 and under audience, don't be surprised to see all ages taking in the entertainment and activities. Why? Well, we at the Express believe kid parties should totally rock just as much as adult parties (and more)!

Let's start with the stage, sponsored by BandWorks and Bay Area Girls Rock Camp, which will feature local kid bands like The Vat, Poison Apple Pie, and Room 19. Performances are by members of the Bay Area Girls Rock Camp. These kids were born with guitars in hand.

Water Rockets
Create your own rocket from recycled soda bottles and paper, and then launch it from our custom launch pad. The fuel: pressurized water!

Recycle-a-Kite
Build a small kite from reclaimed materials. Fly it in the stiff breeze coming off the bay!

Seed Bombs
Construct a small packet of power to help California reclaim its soil from alien species!
Take some native seeds, compost, soil, and a biodegradable package and toss it into an empty public dirt lot. Come back a few months later to see the “damage”.

California Bay Leaf Punch
Learn about one of California’s native species and sample some delicious spiced punch.

UV Beads
Create a Ultraviolet light detecting bracelet to tell you when it’s time to put on some sunblock. Learn about the science of UV light.

Plus, a lot more surprises to be revealed later!
