Art Flags from Across the (East Bay) Land

Jody Colley —  Sat, Jul 3, 2010 at 1:09 PM

Twenty-four neighborhoods from across the East Bay are designing 7' x 10' flags that represent what makes them "Home Grown", the theme for this year's party. Their flags will be showing off their area's innovations, remarkable people, unique places, cultural treasures, history, and claims to fame.

Attendees of the party can view the massive community-wide art project as they stroll down Water Street in historic Jack London Square. The flags start near the U.S.S. Potomac Museum and end near Miss Pearl's Jam House. Previews of some of the flags will be posted on this blog at a later date. Stay tuned!

Materials for the flags were generously donated by Blick Art Materials.
