.Save Oakland Sports Hosts Summit on Coliseum City With Raiders, Mayor Jean Quan

Want to show your support for Oakland’s pro teams and Coliseum City? On Thursday, the advocacy group Save Oakland Sports is hosting its first annual “East Bay Business Summit,” where attendees will hear from members of the Raiders and Mayor Jean Quan, organizers said. The event will also be an opportunity to learn more about Coliseum City, the proposed sports and entertainment complex which A’s co-owner Lew Wolff recently said could potentially work.

The group Save Oakland Sports said that it has invited representatives from the A’s, Raiders, and Warriors to attend and plans to offer information on what fans and local businesses can do to support the cause of keeping the teams here — such as suite sales, group tickets, and team sponsorships. And there will be a no-host bar and appetizers, too!

The Coliseum City development team is slated to give a presentation on the “fine points” of the proposal, the group said.

“Our sports teams are the East Bay’s most visible and important longtime businesses, and we are part of a community of business leaders and sports fans working to make sure the storied franchise stays in Oakland,” the group stated in its invite. Save Oakland Sports also has a petition on its website, which currently has more than 900 signatures.

Here are the details for the event on Thursday, which is open to the public:
