Conservative radio host Michael Savage, who holds a Ph.D in epidemiology and nutritional science from UC Berkeley and whose show airs weekday afternoons on San Francisco's XTRA Sports 860, has scored a publishing deal with HarperCollins for a book that promises to — well, savage the current administration.

Set for an October 5 release and ambitious print run of 400,000 copies, Trickle Up Poverty: Stopping Obama's Attack on our Borders, Economy, and Security avows that "a revolution is brewing. Americans are boiling mad over the way Congress and this Marxist/Leninist-oriented President are manipulating the current economic crisis to nationalize businesses," reads a HC promo. "They’re steamed over the fraud science used to support global warming — which is nothing more than a gigantic Ponzi scheme. They’re watching their life savings evaporate while the President saddles them with $3.6 trillion in new debt.

"Furthermore, Savage says Obama’s socialist policies are dragging down the middle class rather than elevating the plight of those in poverty. ...

"For Savage, poverty is more than just an economic issue. As he sees it, Obama is destroying the country by creating a poverty of the body, mind, and spirit that impoverishes how we think, feel, and view ourselves as a people, while robbing our personal freedoms and bankrupting our clout as the leader of the world."

Topics to be covered in the book include the Tea Party movement ("the last outpost of free expression to counter Obama’s Leninism") and Obama’s "Marxist roots — from his Marxist college professors, his mentor the Reverend Jeremiah Wright ... his Mao-loving czar Ron Bloom ... to his hand-picked former jobs czar [and Oaklander] Van Jones ('I was a communist')." Various sections of the book bear Savage's trademark fondness for coining phrases: "Cap and Tax," "The Health Scare Fraud," "National Insecurity," "Nightmare on Wall Street."

Ten million listeners tune in to Savage's show every week, HC reminds us.
