Alameda County Superior Court Judge Frank Roesch refused to impose a temporary restraining order yesterday against UC Berkeley fraternities, the CoCo Times reports. Some neighbors, led by Berkeley resident Paul Ghysels, had asked for the order, arguing that the frat parties are out of control and need to be reined in immediately. But Roesch ruled that the neighbors will have to wait until their lawsuit against the frats moves through the court process.

Neighbors filed suit against the frats, alleging that that underage drinking and unruly behavior is making their lives miserable. According to the Trib, they want the frats to install an adult supervisor in each frat house to monitor behavior. But Berkeley City Councilman Kriss Worthington said that targeting all fraternities is unfair and that many of them have made progress in the past decade.
