File this under Isn't That Nice: the international foundation Atlantic Philanthropies has announced it will spend $15 million to operate medical and dental clinics at fifteen middle schools in the toughest parts of Oakland. The grant is part of an effort to arrest the downward spiral of violence, substance abuse, and criminality that school officials claim starts in middle school.
