In case you still feel like meditating upon the genius of Pixar, the Starz channel will air The Pixar Story tomorrow night. According to reviews, the documentary will take us all the way back to the 1970s, when Pixar struggled to make itself into a going concern. The film also highlights the early years of famed Pixar animator John Lasseter, who worked overtime to convince skeptical industry heads of the promise of computer animation. At one point, the film relays, Disney executives were so worried about what computers might do to the future of animation that they fired Lasseter fifteen minutes after he pitched a movie idea. Of course, Disney eventually got religion on the whole thang, and entered into a massive partnership with Pixar. The doc airs tomorrow night at 7 pm.
