.Coachella 2012: Radiohead, The Weeknd, Girls, Dr. Dre, and Kendrick Lamar to Play Two Weekends in April

It was a painfully drawn out process, but the lineup for the 2012 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is out! And it’s.. well, the number of acts hailing from the Bay Area is dismally small, the lack of artists whose name include “Odd Future” or “Kill Them All” is conspicuous, and the late-’90s love is strong. So it’s confusing. But it’s a party in the desert, so let’s go.

A brief breakdown: The Black Keys, Radiohead, Dr. Dre, and Snoop Dogg will serve as official headliners. The lineup will be replicated two weekends in a row, an unfathomable effort which proves nothing except that basically everyone in the world wants to go to Coachella. Surprises include the first U.S. appearance of The Weeknd, a newly reunited At The Drive In, along with more echoes from the last decade in the form of Jeff Mangum, Noel Gallagher, and The Hives. Also The Shins are back! In terms of cutting edge new acts, which used to be Coachella’s strong suit, this year’s festival excels mostly on the electronic and dance front. It must’ve been pretty recently that A$AP Rocky hopped onto the bill, and that’ll be an utter riot, no doubt. Enough jabbering, though, look at the poster.

Good luck trying to read the tiny letters:
