San Francisco's Sonny & The Sunsets have been added to the 2010 Pitchfork Music Festival July 16-18 at Chicago's Union Park, it was announced today. The local band is filling the spot for Sweden's jj, who canceled. Songwriter Sonny Smith recently completed his 100 Records Project, in which he commissioned artists to create 100 different record covers for 100 albums by fictional bands he made up and wrote the songs for (200 total). Fellow SF outfit Girls also play the fifth annual music festival, as well as former locals WHY?.
