SILA, Bayonics, Native Elements, Joe Bagala, J-Boogie, Non-Stop Bhangra, and other Bay Area musicians will perform a special benefit concert, called “SF Hearts Haiti,” for victims of that country’s earthquake, to be held at the Independent on Wednesday, January 27. Tickets for the show, which is being organized by Sila Mutungi and Maisha Productions, will cost $10, and 100 percent of the proceeds from the door will be donated to Doctors Without Borders. If you can’t make the show, Sila says money from the door at his Thursday-night residency at Coda, “Sahara,” will also be donated.
