Marching, Dancing, and Lots of Tear Gas: What Went Down Last Night at the Occupy Oakland Protest

Ellen Cushing, and Rachel Swan —  Wed, Oct 26, 2011 at 1:05 AM

It's a little choppy, but here's what our reporters saw last night between 5 and 11 p.m. in downtown Oakland. More updates and photos forthcoming, or for the full account, check out our twitter timeline here. In the meantime, stay safe, and if there's anything from the protest you think we should see or hear, holler at us here.

Your sadly misinformed, Lawngun, and you make the mistake of identifying a whole protest- OVERWHELMINGLY peaceful - with a few inciters. Intellectual laziness wrapped up in what looks like denial and some seriously faulty reductive thinking. Sounds like you're a good compliant citizen that will continue to be exploited by the 1%. Gold stars for you!

"All My Heroes Kill Cops" sign, paint thrown on police officers, vandalism, fires and a pig sty of a city hall plaza. These lower life forms will no doubt continue to claim broad public support for their "cause".
