Guns, Kicking, Mayhem at BART

It's been a violent couple of days in and around East Bay BART stations.

Oakland is officially now a place in which women rob women at gunpoint between 6 and 7 a.m. This is not good for tourism. BART Police Department bulletins have been arriving thick and fast today, recounting the following crimes:

At Coliseum station yesterday at 6:56 a.m., "an adult female victim was robbed at gunpoint by two adult female suspects as she exited her vehicle. One of the suspects pointed a handgun at the victim’s chest and took her purse. The suspects fled the scene in a vehicle and were not located by responding officers. The loss was the purse, cash, credit cards and a cell phone."

At San Leandro station yesterday at 8:16 a.m., "an adult female victim was exiting her vehicle in the south parking lot when a male suspect approached her and displayed a handgun. The male demanded her purse and a short struggle for the purse ensued. The suspect wrestled the purse away and fled the area on foot. Officers were not able to locate the suspect during an extensive search."

At MacArthur station yesterday at 5:20 p.m., "a 22-year-old man kicked a male station agent in the chest, knocking him down, causing injury to the station agent’s elbow. The suspect was arrested for the battery and narcotics possession. He was booked at Glenn Dyer Jail. The station agent received medical attention for his injury."

Last night at 9:21 p.m., BART PD officers at 12th Street station "responded to reports of shots fired on the street above the station. Officers rendered aid to a gunshot victim in Delauer’s store and assisted Oakland police in an area search for the suspects."

At Bay Fair station this morning at 9:25 a.m., "a male adult reported being robbed of his cell phone and $100 by a male juvenile in the parking lot near Grand Street. The suspect was gone upon the officer’s arrival. A Hayward police officer detained a person matching the description near the station 20 minutes later, and the subject was positively identified by the victim as the robbery suspect. The suspect was arrested for robbery and booked at the juvenile hall in San Leandro."

Gotta catch 'em all!
