Montel Williams Talks Pot in Oakland

Chris Thompson —  Mon, Aug 23, 2010 at 7:41 AM

From the three-dot scene at Matier and Ross comes this fun little nugget: former talk-show host and medical pot ambassador Montel Williams wants to get in on the dope game in Oakland. The City Council has agreed to permit four big pot farms in Oakland, although the permits may be tweaked, depending on what happens with the statewide legalization ballot measure this November. And Williams has been bouncing around City Hall, meeting with city councilmembers and City Attorney John Russo, sussing out what he could and couldn't do if he invested money in the cannabis cause here. Williams suffers from multiple sclerosis and has long touted the benefits of marijuana in easing pain and discomfort. Of course, our favorite medical dope advocate remains Rick Brookhiser, the longtime senior editor at National Review and one of the more unlikely potheads in the world — at least, until testicular cancer treatments left him too nauseous to eat, and he was in danger of wasting away until getting high restored his appetite.

Want to help america then step up to the play!

Our dear goverment must find a way to get a bill legistative approved,
so that homeless folks willing to succeed in live be helped out.
We our proud Americans and together we will succeed,
and divided we will fall this we already know because is in our teachings.
Those that are in a good position economically must find a way to open their heart and pockets,
to help out at least a bit this is our nation and is our problem as well.
Lets set politics aside as important as it is to some folks,
we are in crisis at the time and we should not turn our backs and pretend nothing is happening.
If our goverment came out with a plan to help the less fortunate get loans backed up by big brother,
whom by the way is always watching us but not over us,
then granted tax exemptions to all those employers who hired a least 1 member,
of the house hold in play.
A reasonable tax credit no favoritism, to work as expected from all others.
we have to impliment relocation programs to those city being converted into ghost city,
or those cities that home owners are abandoning their properties for what ever reason.
we have states at this time that have homes starting at 10000, 20000.
These houses can be financed, at a low APR, Fixed, and moved into quickly,
producing a positive feed back for the county, and the country.
increasing the population, bringing in:
a tax payer, a service providers, a consumer and a voter all in one.
This is how communities are formed:
with our help we can make America stronger, we have to first clasify, diversify standitarise, educate,
evaluate, and share our findings causing this action to spark a reaction repeating itself.
Somebody can take this Idea and impliment it make a bill,
and give it to our goverment revise it make changes if need too and get it signed.
If we have millions of homeless and we can help just thousands,
sooner or later the numbers will start looking better.
But if we just sit and watch, then it stays the same or gets worst, no action no reaction!
If this was to happen and average person could make minimum wage,
and still be able to survive and be a non homeless tax paying citizen.
Everyone deserves a second chance!

Just had this idea one day "GOD SPEED" may this help out and one way or another.

40 million Americans are now on food stamps

yet: Teacher Jobs Saved by $12 Billion Cut to Food Stamps http://bit.ly/cUGATH

cities/counties/states are now dependent on our Federal Govmnt to sustain them

our Federal government has no money, but they are printing a lot of it

The U.S. money supply increased from $871bn to $2,024T in just two years

Fed Blinks; Will Resume Money Printing http://bit.ly/aYtXCe

Fighting a Double Dip: What Weapons Does the Fed Have Left? http://bit.ly/bKxegG

the odds of a double-dip recession are much higher for, than against

the odds of a global depression are becoming higher every day.

International Monetary Fund (IMF) http://bit.ly/bt1uiK

the crux of the idea would be:

the Feds first legalize the sale of medical marijuana
under the following federal and state auspices

the following is very close to standards that must be set in place

Tom Ammiano's CA. AB 2254
http://bit.ly/besEZw

a program would be developed where each county in the United States will be permitted to establish large controlled grow rooms in large secured warehouses* in appropriate (out-of-town) locations. Existing growers, non-union, would manage, work, and run the large grow warehouses, at agreed upon wage/benefit rates, in return for future considerations for when marijuana is legalized. In the meantime, all profits (considerable) reside in a county food bank fund, for the BULK purchase of staples for those in need.
