Just got around to reading the thoughtful piece on sideshows by veteran East Bay journalist Jesse Douglas Allen-Taylor, and it deserves widespread distribution. Allen-Taylor explains why the idea recently proffered by Mayor Ron Dellums and Chief Anthony Batts to set up legal sideshows might not work, and then puts forward a proposal for a legal "urban driving competition," that could have some big upside potential. — Robert Gammon
