Did your neighbor donate to Prop. 8? Now you can find out very easily thanks to a mash-up of Prop. 8 campaign donors and Google Maps, called EightMaps.com. The map allows users to find the names, occupations, employers, and amount given of those who donated to the anti-gay-marriage initiative, as well as their approximate location of residence. (Not surprisingly, there are small clusters in Alameda, San Leandro, Piedmont, and over the hills. Not so much in Berkeley.) But it's once again raising privacy concerns as some donors say they are finding themselves more easily the targets of harassment. That was also the argument behind the lawsuit filed by the Yes on 8 donors, who argued that the state's finance disclosure law was chilling their rights to free speech. But late last month a federal judge refused to shield them.

There are four donors shown on the map who live within five blocks of the corner of Market and Castro!
Here's another google map that those four people might want to check out:

Anyone who harasses a neighbor for supporting prop 8 is a hypocrite. Why can't people believe and vote how they want without fear of harassment? This holds true even for those who were against prop 8.
Oh come on, East Bay Express. Can you cite one single example of harassment that was fueled by this map? Anecdotes are not the same as facts.
It's Prop 8 that's fueling widespread harassment by imposing mandatory discrimination on every single person in California.
This post is a complete lie. There has been no criminal harassment whatsoever as a result of the publication of donor addresses - and no, getting an anonymous email saying "You donated to hate" is not criminal harassment.
I think the real problem here is that people who donated to Prop 8 realize deep down that they're bigots and they made a shameful decision. If they believed in the righteousness of their cause, why would they care if their names and addresses were made public?
I donated to two Democratic candidates for congress. My name and address and employer will be out there for all to see. I stand by my donations, and if someone decides to harass me as a result, I most certainly will not blame it on disclosure laws!
This is all part of the HETEROSEXUAL Agenda.
They have A LOT of nerve condemning Gays & Lesbians simply for EXISTING in this world, and yet, take a look at most Heterosexual families. Falling apart, pregnant children at 13 and YOUNGER these days, multiple divorces and children from each of those marriages that they can BARELY support. Many ending up in the public child welfare system.
It seems to me that NO GROUP has done more to UNDERMINE the American Family & Marriage than Heterosexuals themselves.
Yet they continue to blame Gay & Lesbian citizens for that fact that they are not able to manage their families.
What a SHAMEFUL time in California, and ever further, in AMERICAN history.
Imagine, people thinking that they can simply vote another's rights away and that there will be no ramifications for doing so. What kind of people conduct themselves in that manner?
HETEROSEXUALS, that's who.
