Crazy couple of stories out of Fairfield from MediaNews. A Catholic priest tossed out one of his parishoners on Sunday because her car was adorned with Barack Obama signs. Parishoners said that cars with McCain-Palin signs have not been targeted. Then when a reporter from the Vacaville Reporter goes to the church to ask questions about it, the priest attacks him and tries steal his notebook, yelling, "No, we're not writing that!" Then the reporter starts cursing at the priest, threatens to call the cops, and ends up filing a police report. Wow.

It is embarassing to those of us who call ourselves priests. Albeit I am not a Catholic priest, I am an Episcopal priest...this kind of singlemindedness is what absolutely gives religious, spiritual, and those os us who see God as bigger than any issue we can think of, a bad name and reputation. These are the kind of "religious" people that get the headlines, not those of us who are just trying to help our parishioners get through life day to day. I tell my parishioners that I really don't care to know their politics and hope they will care for each other no matter what when "push come to shove." I really feel sorry for those who we thrown out of their own church. I don't think my God would have anything to do with that!
