Chip Johnson Goes There

Chris Thompson —  Tue, Sep 23, 2008 at 11:58 AM

We've been wondering when it would happen. This morning, the San Francisco Chronicle's Chip Johnson finally screwed his courage to the sticking post and called for the ouster of Oakland Mayor Ron Dellums. Citing a recall petition circulating around the city, Johnson called the mayor a lazy, detached shell of a leader who should be removed forthwith. "Dellums struggles to work in his City Hall office five days a week, a feat he's rarely accomplished since taking the job," Johnson writes. "His time as mayor can only be described as a mistake carried out by an electorate that was banking on the former congressman's perceived star power. Now voters must step up again. It's time to correct Oakland's course before the city goes down."

A to the Men on that. I signed that petition a while back and I hope this oust-Dellums campaign picks up more speed.
